We’re going on a cruise in January and subsequently now require a passport for travel. Tazz had an expired one and was able to renew it while I had to request a new one. It’s been two months and I already got mine; Tazz’s is still in process. After reading an article on CNN about passport processing times increasing, I wanted to mention that stapling a $20 bill to the application does work.

I just got my passport this week for a trip to Germany next week. I applied at Easter. It took me 18 weeks to get my passport doing the slow route. 12weeks is just a lie.

My only advise is, if you need a passport or think you might need one, I would get the passport NOW and have the clock start ticking. Jan. next year everyone will have to have one if they drive into Canada or Mexico so the waits are just going to get worse than better.

Luckily we applied with at least six months ahead of us for our trip. 18 weeks is completely retarded; I wonder how often the applications fall on the floor and get redirected back at the end of the queue!
