Well, as some of you know, Thursday ushered in Midsummer/The Summer Solstice/Litha.  It’s supposed to be a time to reflect and look back at what the first half of the seasonal year has brought and where you need to go for the second half.  I was mildly disappointed with myself.

I haven’t been eating the best lately and my goals set back in January never really came to fruition.  On Saturday morning, I was in the shower trying to wake up and sulking about this fact of not doing the stuff I wanted to get done.  One of the big things is not taking photographs.  Photography has always been a part of me and it irritates me when I don’t get motivated to get out and take more pictures.  So, in the shower, I told Tazz that we need to go hiking.

We ended up going to a really neat area by us that I haven’t been in since I was a young child.  We found natural springs, a holding pond of thousands of tadpoles, spiders, frogs, flowers, birds, and a lot of chipmunks.  We had a blast and not only did we both take lots of pictures, we got exercise.  It was a lot of fun.

We’re going to South Dakota over the Independence Day week but not arriving until after the big shindig at Mount Rushmore.  We’re driving out and expect to have plenty more pictures to share.  We are also going camping with friends towards the end of the month.  I can’t wait.

I ended up canceling my plans to go to my 10th high school reunion.  It actually conflicted with our camping plans but I decided it was not important.  I have a few regrets from high school and I wanted to make amends with a few people.  In the end, it doesn’t matter and I realized the friendships I have now are more important.

That’s enough for now; just trying to keep the blog fresh.
