Well, it was snowing.  Thursday, it was almost 60 degrees (F) here and then Friday, 8 inches of snow fell from 4am until 3pm.  What a nightmare!  Tazz and I ended up not going to work and doing our jobs through VPN as much as we could.  I spent almost 2.5 hours plowing throughout the day.  All in all, I really do like the snow when it first comes.  After a few months, it gets really old.

My mother is doing good.  She’s found that she has limits with the amount of bending over, walking, and even just standing.  Slowly she’s making it back to full recovery and by next week she’ll be clear to use her car again.  It’s killing her to not be able to drive since she sells AVON and spends a lot of time delivering orders and being a cross guard for the elementary school.  I’m happy she’s okay and hopefully this surgery diverts whatever bad stuff she’s been going through.  She’s pretty tough but when it comes down to it, she’s a scared little girl.  We all have a sense of invincibility and when reality bites us, we end up breaking down like a kid.

Overall my migraines have been under control.  Under control meaning the frequency is consistent and I maintain myself with a daily dose of an NSAID.  I’ve come to the realization that spending $30/month on an anti-seizure medication that could be killing my brain and liver isn’t worth it.  I can spend $9.00 on a huge bottle of Advil that I take once a day.  I think the risk of liver failure is probably less with that.  We’ll see.  I’m starting my new insurance this month and I am going to investigate if any of the headache clinics in Chicago are in the plan.  I may try acupuncture as a supplemental treatment.  It’s can’t hurt, right?  (actually it will hurt duh…)

You can keep your snow. I’ll settle for a bit of rain 🙂

I’m glad to hear that your mom is doing okay.

Excuse me, but the official measurement at Mitchell was 10.1 inches :)….So PFFFFFFFFT TO YOU — hee hee

Either way, it’s only December 4th and I already hate the snow. It needs to be Spring now.

Just fyi, Chicago isn’t as great as it sounds. Try Ann Arbor MI’s Headache center. I’ve heard more about them and have actually been trying to find the time to take off work to go up there, but I guess if you figure the time I’ve taken off because of being sick I could have been there twice or three times now.

Appointments are really quick too!
